Clipping & distribution

One long-form asset, cut into many — and placed where each cut actually works.

What it is

Long-form content — a podcast, a launch film, a founder interview, a conference stage, a stream — is usually published once and then left alone. The work is done and the reach has barely started.

Clipping turns one asset into a supply of short-form. Distribution is the half that gets skipped, and it is the half that matters: cutting is cheap and getting steadily cheaper, while placing a cut in front of the right audience is neither. A folder of ninety clips nobody has seen is not a content strategy.

Because we represent a roster and run owned pages, we can place as well as produce — which is the part a freelance editor cannot do and an agency without distribution has to buy.

How we run it

  1. Source and selection

We watch the whole thing and mark what can stand alone. Most long-form yields far fewer genuinely good clips than its length suggests, and pretending otherwise is how feeds get filled with forty seconds of throat-clearing.

  2. Cutting and adaptation

Reframed to vertical where it belongs there, captioned, hook-led in the first second, and cut to the length the placement actually rewards rather than one length everywhere.

  3. Placement

Scheduled across your own channels, roster accounts and owned pages, chosen per clip. A cut that works on one platform is often dead on another, so placement is a decision rather than a broadcast.

  4. Measurement and feedback

What travelled, where, and why — fed back into which clips get cut from the next source asset.

What you get

  • A clip libraryEvery usable cut from the source, catalogued rather than dumped in a folder.
  • Platform versioningAspect ratio, length and hook set per placement.
  • Captions and subtitlesBurned or soft, and accurate — most of this is watched muted.
  • A distribution planWhich clip goes where, and in what order.
  • SchedulingRun across your channels, roster accounts and owned pages.
  • Performance reportFeeding directly into the next round of selection.

Questions

What source material do you need?

Anything long-form with the highest-quality master you have — podcast recordings, webinars, launch films, interviews, stage talks, streams. Original files rather than a re-download of the published version, wherever those still exist.

Which platforms do you distribute to?

The short-form verticals first, plus whatever your audience actually uses. Placement is decided per clip rather than posting everything everywhere, which is the most common and most expensive mistake in this category.

Do you distribute through your own pages?

Where it fits. We represent a roster and run owned pages, so distribution can go beyond your own channels — that is normally the difference between a clip programme that compounds and one that plateaus.

How many clips will we get from one asset?

Fewer than the arithmetic suggests, and that is deliberate. We would rather deliver the cuts that can genuinely stand alone than pad a number with weak ones that train the algorithm against you.

Who owns the clips?

You do. They are derived from your source material, and the deliverables are yours outright. Where a roster creator appears in or distributes a cut, that is covered separately in their agreement.
